Commonly Asked Questions About Stone Floors
Tile & Grout
There are two stories to tell when it comes to cleaning Clay and Ceramic Tiles. One is the story of the durable tile
itself. The other is of it’s evil sibling “grout”.
Tile usually cleans up beautifully, but at times grout can become permanently stained, particularly if it has not been sealed properly. When this occurs, a color seal can be applied directly to the grout after cleaning. This gives your grout a brand new look. Now the cleaned, sealed grout matches your clean tile.
“Should I Seal My Stone?”
Yes! Impregnator sealers are designed to penetrate below the surface of the stone and deposit solid particles in the pores of the stone, or coat the individual minerals below the stones surface. Water, oil and soil are restricted from entering the stone, causing beading on the surface for easy removal. Allow at least 72 hours after installation before sealing.
“Why Should I Seal My Natural Stone?”
A protected stone or tile & grout will be easier to clean, resist staining, and provide a safer and healthier environment. Considering the investment, why wouldn’t you provide the surface with the maximum protection possible?
“How Often Do I Need To Seal My Stone?”
If your stone is professionally sealed with professional sealers, and cleaned frequently, our sealer should last up to 3-5 years. Use and ongoing maintenance greatly affect sealer durability.
