Odor Control
Home odors may originate from a variety of sources.
One common source is from our beloved pets!
Some important tips to remember if you have pets in your home!
URINE SPOTS
RUN SPOT, RUN
What should you do when your pet has a “lapse in judgment” on your carpet? There is no need to worry, we can help!
When your pet has a tendency to urinate on your carpet, take a quick walk through your home each day when you arrive home. (The quicker you clean a pet spot the better)
Tips to remember:
- When urine is first excreted, it is on the acid side of the pH scale and very easily removed. (directions below)
- Within hours of being exposed to oxygen, urine turns to an alkaline pH, until it comes close to the chemical composition of ammonia ----the spot can no longer be easily removed.
To remove a fresh urine spot, mix 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts water and clean with a white terry cloth towel. If you have a small wet/dry vacuum, it would be ideal to rinse the area with.
To remove urine that is more than a couple of hours old, call our office for instructions on the use of enzymes.
NEVER use over the counter spot removers or all purpose cleaners on urine! You may set the spot permanently! It is now called a stain! If you have questions please call us. 417.833.1732
